Sweet Home

Love this room setting! From the first glance this may appear to be a little tiresome, but if you are really looking you will notice some divine details.

*BRICK FLOORS! now isn't that just intriguing?! I love the feeling of natural stone underneath my footsteps. I would throw a puffy cream-color sheep skin in front of the fireplace to add a little romance.
*COWHIDE CHAIR! Using cowhide rug on the floor is no brainer, but using it as an upholstery has to be done right or it will look too cheesy. The beige-y shade with the off-white-finish frame is a refined touch.
*LET THERE BE LIGHT! Notice the beautiful and simple floor windows, the lighting sets the mood in the room. Shall we say, tranquility?

Sharing my must-haves for the fall/winter season - just because it's getting colder, doesn't mean the style has to be dull. I'm loving the idea of vibrant touch-ups on a monochromatic outfit, tasteful but not excessively extravagant.

Flirting with a ghost...

Browsing through the spreads of Marie Claire October issue inattentively while getting my pedicure done, this just caught my attention, and I couldn't help but to follow up with some silly giggles. While Halloween is right around the corner, are people getting creative in their bedroom like choosing their crazy costumes? Say... flirting with a ghost?

Whimsical, maybe; subtle, not so much...

Sleep in a frame...

For the longest time I would hardly consider buying poster bed for my bedroom, I keep thinking the look is too traditional for my taste. I am, however, beginning to change my mind after looking at these designs. The key is to incorporate a somewhat rigid frame with fun objects and chic colors.

The intricate wall pattern is playing against the simple white frame, bold contrast is always a plus for me.

Detail matters! The beautiful texture of the frame is hard to ignore, love the tessellated look. And the clover-shaped headboard... a total bonus!

The chunky casters suddenly make the frame look playful, not to mention the lipstick-red shade warms up the whole place. Shall we say, cozzzzzyyyyy?

Intriguing shape- a metal frame with funky finials, and don't you just love the canopy on it?

Totally Hollywood Regency, gold + white makes a classic and lively combo.

With or without canopy, the whole setting is just eclectic.

XOXO,

Bettie

The Undead Chair.

How brilliant is Philippe Starck? I don't know but I gotta tell ya, I dig his designs. One of my favorite be the ghost chair. The name is derived from the style of the French Louis XIV plus the subtle using of lucite, it seems as if the king is resurrected. Not to mention the latest candy-color version is simply irresistible. The result is fun, chic, and totally affordable. ($159.00/ea.)
