Continental Furniture Auction at Doyle New York

As a frequent bidder at Doyle New York, a renowned auctioneer founded since 1962 located on the upper east side of Manhattan, it was certainly delightful to visit its Fall's Important English & Continental Furniture sale. While the price estimates are strong, but oh boy what eye candies!! The following pieces made it on my favorite list.


Pair of Empire gilt and patinated bronze candlesticks, circa 1810.
Estimate: $700 ~ $1,000

Italian Neoclassical painted and parcel-gilt console, Rome, late 18th century.
Estimate: $12,000 ~ $18,000


Pair of Italian Rococo gilt-bronze walnut, rosewood, and parquetry commodino, mid 18th century. (LOVE THESE, totally exquisite!)
Estimate: $12,000 ~ $18,000


French Louis XVI gilt-bronze mahogany & beech console desserte, circa 1780.
Estimate: $6,000 ~ $9,000


French Provincial Louis XV painted commode, mid 18th century, original paint.
Estimate: $3,000 ~ $5,000

Pair of French Louis XV painted Fauteuils a la Reine, mid 18th century.
